Conservation Areas
The LRCA proudly offers the community eight Conservation Areas for semi-passive recreational use, access to Lake Superior and other activities such as birding, photography, hiking Wilderness Trails and more! Two of our Forest Management Properties are also open to the public (Mills Block and Wishart). Along with the outdoor recreation and conservation education opportunities offered by our Conservation Areas, we also own and maintain other Conservation Lands that provide habitat protection and assist with water management.
Best Practices for Source Water Protection
The LRCA has recently completed a best practices project for source water protection aimed at non-municipal drinking water users. The following fact sheets have been developed and are meant to be used as a resource of information for community residents:
- Best Practices: Caring for Wells & Conventional Septic Systems
- Drinking Water Source Protection – Private Wells
